Maurice Lacroix Unveils AIKON Mercury Thailand Edition 2025

The Time That Disappeared
In 2019, Maurice Lacroix introduced the world’s first AIKON Mercury timepiece, crafted at its Manufacture in Saignelégier, nestled in the heart of the Swiss Jura. At first glance, the AIKON Mercury appeared like any ordinary watch. However, with a slight tilt or movement of the wrist, the hour and minute hands would shift, no longer displaying the correct time. When the wrist is raised to check the time, the hands return to show the correct time, as if by magic. This is the enchanting secret of the AIKON Mercury, much like how time seems to disappear when we’re not paying attention, only to reappear when we need it. This extraordinary mechanism took three years to develop and perfect, fusing Maurice Lacroix’s signature innovation with contemporary aesthetics. The AIKON Mercury embodies the spirit of a true masterpiece, symbolising the complex nature of time.
In 2020, 50 units of the AIKON Mercury were released, captivating audiences briefly before disappearing from public view as the world came to a halt due to global events. It was as if the watch itself reflected its own mechanism, with the hands ceasing their task of keeping time.
“Your Time is Now”
As time moves on, we often hear the phrase “right place, right time.” In keeping with its commitment to excellence in watchmaking, Maurice Lacroix is now approaching its 50th anniversary in 2025. To mark this milestone, Maurice Lacroix Thailand, alongside the founding members of the Maurice Lacroix Club Thailand, sought a special timepiece for collectors who have long admired the brand. This timepiece needed to represent the pinnacle of Maurice Lacroix’s craftsmanship, an honour reserved for collectors in Thailand alone. Thus, the hands of the ultimate watch have turned once more to display the time for you. Introducing the Maurice Lacroix AIKON Mercury Thailand Limited Edition 2025.
This exceptional model features unique, magical functionality inspired by the colours of the Thai national flag—blue, white, and red. These colours are intricately incorporated into the transparent sapphire dial, which reveals the skeletonised mechanism beneath. The 44mm black DLC-coated case houses the innovative “free-hand” system, a first of its kind. The name “AIKON Mercury” reflects the fluid, mercurial nature of time, with the freely moving hands using natural gravity to display time.
The AIKON Mercury Thailand Limited Edition 2025 redefines timekeeping with its patented blue “time memory module” mechanism. It enhances the display of hours and minutes with elegant dauphine hands coated in white Super-LumiNova, accented by blue details. The balance weights and signature “M” logo on the hour hand rotate in harmony with the counterbalance of the minute hand and the red-tipped second hand, creating a mesmerising visual effect. The colours—white, red, and blue—represent the Thai flag, with the sapphire case back featuring a printed image of the flag in the centre and the words “Thai Edition of 25 pieces,” symbolising its exclusivity to Thailand.
The development of this timepiece required the expertise of Maurice Lacroix’s team, who meticulously calculated every detail to ensure the watch hands not only tell time but also act as a gravitational centre, allowing the hands to move effortlessly as the watch transitions between positions.
Today, the Maurice Lacroix AIKON Mercury Thailand Limited Edition 2025 takes timekeeping to a new level of excellence. This unique timepiece responds to every movement of the wrist, as if the AIKON Mercury itself controls time for its wearer. The message from Maurice Lacroix is clear: “Your time is now.” The Thailand Limited Edition comes with both red and white rubber straps, produced exclusively for Thailand, with only 25 pieces available. It will be released in December 2024, priced at 386,000 THB.
